Ipswich-based warehousing and transport firm GMA Warehousing and Transport has just taken delivery of two specialised DAF trucks to meet the requirements of the highly flexible, fast growing warehousing, transport and cargo business. The XF tractors units from the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk based DAF family-owned dealership Chassis Cab have been added to the 30-strong multi-marque fleet which operates throughout the UK. It is the first time addition of DAF to the fleet.
The business founded in 1987 now has 250,000 sq ft of warehousing space and a staff of 97 focusing on import, export and cargo handling from two sites – the main headquarters at Ipswich and also in Walton Avenue, Felixstowe. Their dedicated fleet of vehicles and trailers
– in striking white and blue livery - include everything from small commercial vehicles to 44-tonne trucks.
The DAF features a PACCAR MX-11 Euro 6 emissions-compliant engine, luxury Super SpaceCab, AS-tronic automated gear box and Drivers Performance Assist to help the driver to operate the truck to the best fuel economy. The truck – voted MotorTransport Fleet Truck of the Year 2016 – comes with three-year warranty and dealer Chassis Cab will be responsible for the service and maintenance contract.
